Why is my GPS tracker not working?

A GPS tracker is a reliable tool for tracking vehicles or objects. If the tracker is not reporting a location or appears to be offline, there can be several possible causes. Below are the most common reasons — and what you can do about them.

No GPS signal

  • Vehicle location: Is the vehicle parked in a garage, underground parking, or under a metal roof? These environments can block the GPS signal.
  • Metal components: If the tracker is installed behind metal panels or near other electronic devices, the signal may be disrupted.

Solution: Move the vehicle outside, take a short test drive, and/or reposition the tracker to a better location with a clear view of the sky.

No power supply

  • No power to the tracker: Check if the tracker is properly connected to a constant 12V or 24V power source.
  • Loose cables or blown fuse: A faulty fuse or loose wiring can interrupt the power supply.

Solution: Inspect the wiring and power connection using a multimeter, or have it checked by a technician.

Tracker in sleep mode or stationary

  • Red LED indication: Some trackers show a red status in the portal when they are in sleep mode or have been stationary for more than 5 minutes.
  • No movement = no update: Many trackers only send updates when movement is detected to save battery.

Solution: Check if the last known location is accurate. Move the vehicle to see if the tracker becomes active again.

✅ Troubleshooting checklist

  •  Is the vehicle parked outside or in a location with a clear view of the sky?
  •  Is the tracker properly connected to power (12V/24V)?
  •  Is the last known location logical and recent?
  •  Has there been any movement since the last update?
  • Have you taken a short test drive?

Have you checked all the points above and the tracker still isn’t working? Please contact our support team with the IMEI number of the tracker and a brief description of the issue.
